@Foreverisabel years of fire suppression, in a region where fire is a natural part of the ecosystem, will lead to brushy, overgrown conditions. Combined with rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, and more human-induced fires (mostly accidental but also including arson), this leads to increased wildfire.

@Foreverisabel up to about a century ago, fire was a natural and seasonal part of the landscape, even prior to the "fire regime" by Native Americans in the last few thousand years. Lands were burned for a large variety of reasons, but the onslaught of suburban development and Smokey the Bear quickly led to overgrown conditions which are bound to burn, even if all humans disappeared right now. Fire is natural but our actions have made it much worse in these heavily populated areas.

@Foreverisabel "all the other countries are perfectly fine"? No, that is incorrect. Google it. Quick internet reference reveals a lot. From last May: "Mexico is fighting 159 active wildfires across the country amid the year’s second heat wave that has also put the nation’s power grid under stress. Mexico’s national weather service issued an alert that at least 12 states would experience temperatures higher than 45°C (113°F), with large swathes of the rest of the country expected to see temperatures higher than 30°C." Wildfires raging all over central and south america, and in Canada. Look up the wildfire situation in Canada the past 5 years or so, it's gotten really bad there.

@Foreverisabel "Mexico’s national forest commission (Conafor) said the wildfires spread across 75,474 hectares (186,500 acres). It also said that 30 of the fires were in protected natural areas. Mexico City and several other regions in the country have faced blackouts, Milenio reported Thursday. Some schools shut down due to high temperatures in areas such as San Luis Potosi, El Universal reported. Parts of the country have also been dealing with drought. The capital’s surrounding metropolis of about 20 million people has seen intermittent water supply in recent months due to lower rainfall than expected."

@Foreverisabel Another report from last May: "Raging fires in Mexico send smoke over southern US, reducing air quality readings from Texas to Florida The North American Drought Monitor reports that nearly 70% of the country is facing drought conditions, while the figure for Canada is closer to 40%. An El Niño pattern regime is widely credited for causing widespread precipitation deficits throughout North America."
