  1. more like several tens of thousands of years, but otherwise yes this is correct. If it were millions of light years away it would be outside the Milky Way galaxy which is about 100,000 light years across.

  3.  @User_1dashzero  the sun is much closer than the other stars. Around six light minutes away from earth, as I recall, so you'd have that long to get your affairs in order

  4.  @User_1dashzero  a light-year is the distance light can travel in a year, at light-speed. A light minute is the distance light can travel in a minute. Sun is six minutes away, if you were travelling at light speed which is around 670 million miles per hour
