@crzrck if they were real, we'd have seen one by now. Thousands of game cams and security cameras in the woods these days. Not much wild lands left in the lower 48 anymore, it's all a tree farm now or a playground for hunters, hikers, foresters, -ologists, mushroom pickers, Instagrammers, geocachers and tourists

@Inkwaber My work often entails following animal trails through the forest, for mile after endless mile along bear trails. Bear trails are easy to spot because they step in the same footprints. Never seen a bigfoot track.

@Ryanwahlberg-s9u they didn't have thousands of cameras in the Congo in the early 1800s like we have now. They hadn't cut down the entire Congo, like we did the forest in America. There aren't really any wild lands left in the lower 48 states.

@Inkwaber what evidence? I live and work in "bigfoot territory" and have surveyed tens of thousands of acres of it. Game cameras everywhere, security cameras, foresters, loggers, other -ologists such as myself, Instagrammers, hunters, mushroom pickers, lots of people in the woods and nobody can get a video of one or capture one, or find a single speck of hair or bone or anything.

@Inkwaber Recently all of the "samples" reportedly of bigfoot, Yeti, etc. were submitted for DNA analysis and found to be parts of known, non-bigfoot animals like bears. I see a lot of bears in the woods. Bobcats, mountain lions, wolverines.... never seen a bigfoot

@discojelly the fact that they aren't documented tells me they aren't real. I work as an archaeologist. I find traces of cultures from thousands of years ago every day, yet I've never seen evidence of the Bigfoot. If it was out there, we would have found it by now

@ also, I live in a rural area, in the heart of bigfoot country, and I've surveyed tens of thousands of acres of timberlands for cultural resources specifically. It's all a big treefarm now, nowhere for bigfoot to hide. We've clear-cut nearly ALL the forest in America and what's left is crawling with people and teeming with cameras.

@AbeTweakin I myself actually am in the business of conducting research. I conduct surveys for cultural resources. One thing I know for certain is, there is no bigfoot in northern California. We would have seen one by now. If I can get photos of elk, mountain lions and similar wildlife at work every day, then I'd be able to photograph a bigfoot... yet nobody has. Just ultra-blurry, fake looking videos like the one you posted.

@robertcoggeshall3071 I live and work in this region, as an archaeologist. I spend my days searching the woods for traces of civilizations from thousands of years ago. Excavated human burials on the north coast here, from thousands of years ago. Surveyed tens of thousands of acres. It's all a big tree-farm now, or a playground for tourists, the rest of it is cattle ranches and potfarms. If those things were out there, there would be CLEAR videos of them like there are for every other animal in the woods. There are animals that are fairly rare to see in person (ringtail cats, lynx etc) but which show up often and regularly in game cameras. Yet, no bigfoot

@robertcoggeshall3071 So, if they're in the woods, how do they get around without leaving evidence of their travel, like bears and humans and all the other animals do? A cousin of mine worked for years as a tracker and government hunter. Never seen one.

Instagrammers, hunters, foresters, biologists, botanists, hydrologists.... hikers, fishermen, mushroom hunters, potgrowers.... and still, not one convincing photo. Amazing. They must have powers of invisibility.

Foresters, fishermen, hunters, mushroom pickers, biologists, birdwatchers, tourists. Someone would have gotten a photo by now, if they were here

@robertcoggeshall3071 game and trail cameras are placed strategically, not just randomly in the woods. That's why we call them TRAIL cams. Put them on wildlife trails, and watch the wildlife walk by. I've worked on a lot of ranches here that are around 10,000 acres or more. Can't patrol it all, so we use cameras. There's no bigfoot in northern california. We need evidence, not "several photos which may be legit".

we would need some DNA first. All the supposed samples of Bigfoot fur, etc. have proven to be other animals, nothing unknown to science
