Republicans. Trump was contemplating selling off all our national parks
50
It was republican governor Duecey
14
Then Republicans should stop selling it
13
California doesn't tax you if you don't live in California, the federal government taxes you
10
thanks Biden
10
@thisguyshorty3554 ok, that's fine. My point was, California residents don't tax the residents of other states.
9
Let the free market decide
8
Get Newsome outta here
6
@lynnroberts76 you don't think the government is a "for profit" entity? That's good. They're public servants after all
5
@arthurzettel6618 did you just take a guess? Try again, kiddo
5
Arizona, its a fun place to live
5
The republican governor who signed the deal
5
hottest day where I live this whole year was 72 degrees.
5
Wait, did we vote on this? I don't recall voting on this
4
@sugoiharris1348 sounds like you don't even know who made the deal. Must be rough being that ignorant
4
The republican governor thought it was a good idea
4
Do more than pray
3
@chrisfall706 California collects tax on gas sold in Arizona? Are you sure about that?
3
@jasziegl8983 Tell me, what's the expected daily output of those desal plants going to be? Lets compare that with the amount of water used by farmers and ranchers and for alfalfa production, and see how many plants you will have to build
3
@jasziegl8983 Again, look up how much those plants produce, and how much the planned plants will produce, and compare it to the average consumption of a million acres of alfalfa production. Then look at the cost to build the plants, and their expected range of productivity before the Gulf is too briny to effectively keep desalinization plants operative.
3
@anotherguy9402 fantastic insult, thanks. You must be a big boy
3
@sugoiharris1348 You have me mistaken with somebody else, perhaps. I'm not angry at all.
3
@Tailormademan900 I'm between the two cities, on the coast obviously. After training in El Paso, SF must have been a breeze!!! hahaha
3
republicans don't like the government telling people what to do with their land. People in that desert should be able to pump as much as they want, regardless of what country they came from. This is a capitalist country, highest bidder wins.

global warming
2
What desalinization plants?
2
California isn't allowing Arizona access to the ocean? What are you talking about???
2
@alicel3992 you read incorrectly. Might want to bone up on those pesky facts
2
@jasziegl8983 I noticed you left Texas out of the conversation. How's the drought going down there? Texas has access to the ocean, and is also running out of water. We told you this was going to happen but you didn't listen
2
Why not ask Texas if you can have their ocean water?
2
@jasziegl8983 Where are those plants being built? There is not enough water for all of us. You desalinate the Gulf of Mexico, you're going to have problems in the long run. I do agree that California was obstinate in this last round of negotiations, Newsome has to go. I cannot believe that chump is in charge here. Anyway we can't desalinate enough water for everybody's needs. 85% of California's water goes to agriculture, you could cut off all residential use altogether and it wouldn't help much, so the idea of building enough desalinization plants to supply that much water isn't realistic.
2
@anotherguy9402 did your teacher tell you that at school yesterday
2
This is why we need government. Otherwise it's a free-for-all, highest bidder wins. The government needs to step it up, and boot out the Saudis
2
Republicans
2
good grief lady, get outta here
2
@thanhavictus for republicans, everything is for sale. Trump was floating the idea of selling our national parks to Pepsi or Disney, he said a corporation could run them better than the government
2
Too many people, not enough water. The Colorado river already ceased reaching the ocean years ago, and you're still draining it. Aquifers are running lower and lower and not being replenished. The more you pump, the greater the catastrophe will eventually be. This is just the beginning. Imagine this community in a thousand years.
2
Oh good it's about time. I know republicans think everything is for sale, but perhaps we should not sell all our water to the Saudis.
1
And what, you're just wasting it? Why don't you grow some alfalfa or something? Maybe send it down the Mississippi river, the drought is so bad that shipping has halted on the river because there's not enough water for barges to get through
1
Republicans
1
Nothing is sacred to republicans, not even water. Republicans selling our water to Saudi Arabia.
1
@chris135x It was a Republican governor who approved the deal, and the deal was cancelled under a Democratic governor. Trump himself has stated many times that it would be a good idea for America to sell our national parks to corporations like Disney or CocaCola, this is nothing new. They equate public lands with communism
1
you run around all day in 119 degree heat?
1
The republicans don't give a lick about the Indians, they would prefer the natives were all extirpated
1
@Exposing Liars THIS is the judgement? Good then we can stop hearing about it right
1
Actually we have a lot of rules and restrictions on what can be driven on the road. Vehicles must pass a lot of state tests before approval for use on the road
1
Agriculture, great. So we'll have food now. That's horrible news
1
@DBRising why? It's a free market. Highest bidder wins. Capitalism baby
1
@basedoz5745 honestly I don't believe the report at all, I was just being facetious. Either way, there's not enough water for everyone to have a mansion and a swimming pool and a nice lawn. Gotta shut off the supply at some point. This sort of story will undoubtedly replay many times in the future. The Colorado river ceased to reach the ocean years ago and is steadily dwindling, as the population rises.
1
@basedoz5745 all true. Good points.
