After the quick surrender of the American-trained Iraq Army and NATO-trained Afghan army, the West lost confidence in the fighting capability of the forces they train. Ukraine's competence is a nice change of pace.

@NihilistAlien It is not just enough to want something. Most Afghans don't want the Taliban, but they are unwilling to fight for their country. Good news is that the Ukrainians have the courage that the Afghans lack.

@theotherohlourdespadua1131 The Iraq soldiers change into civilian cloths and ran away. This is how ISIS took a third of the country almost without any fighting. When the Iraq Army fled Mosel, their forces were three times the size of ISIS', they were better equipped, and they were in defense positions. Also, the Iraqis only beat ISIS with American air support -- the thing Biden took away that lead to the collapse of Afghanistan.

@pawelzybulskij3367 The "puppet government" in Afghanistan was full of anti-American politicians who the Afghan voters chose. If the Afghans wanted hardliners in power, then they would have won the elections. Just look at how America couldn't do anything about the Iraq people voting in a pro-Iran coalition of terrorist militias.

Putin is also having difficulty calling reserves, while claiming low casualties. The Russian people are gullible, but at some point they have to question all the contradictions made by their state media. They can't be that dumb?
