  5. The US has protected NATO countries for 74 years. Seems reliable. After seeing the reluctance of France and Germany to support Ukraine, Eastern Europe would prefer a NATO structure lead by the US-UK over a EU structure lead by Germany-France.

  9. ​​​ @joeyjojojrshabadoo7462  It is not a good look when Macron tells Ukraine to surrender territory and sovereignty because the war is inconvenient for France. The backlash from other European countries then results in Macron sending aid to Ukraine to counteract his appeasement policy. Of course, Macron is now giving China the green light to invade Taiwan.

  10.  @chrisrobert5252  They get dragged into supporting Ukraine kicking and screaming like a toddler throwing a tantrum. While EU candidate status is the right direction, it is just symbolic at this point.

  11.  @joeyjojojrshabadoo7462  It matters that Macron keeps pushing that concessions that need to be made for Russia and that France is always one of the last ones to send the most needed military equipment to Ukraine. For the size of the French military and economy, the aid given is pretty modest in both terms of size and per capita.

  12.  @chrisrobert5252  Sounds like France is avoiding attention because they are afraid of hurting Putin's feelings. British aid is both bigger in terms of both size and per capita.
