  1. Putin assumes Russia-Speaking=Russian-Nationalism. That is a rather dumb, if you think about all the English-speaking countries that have no wish to be ruled by the British Crown.

  2. @Lianhua Xin Ukrainians are obviously more willing to lose soldiers fighting for their independence and survival. Meanwhile, Russians only support the war because they naively think it is a limited operation with limited Russian casualties. The longer the war goes on, the more difficulty Putin will have hiding all the dead Russian soldiers from the public. Russian public opinion may have more to do with the war's outcome than territorial control.
