@mattayele1906 Republican opposition is exaggerated as so far Republicans have approved aid to Ukraine with only the demand of auditing the suppliers done to appease the fringe, conspiracy wing of the party. Of course, if Trump starts spreading Ukrainian conspiracies for his own benefit, then we may find many Republicans abandon their principles to appease the personality cult.

@mattayele1906 America was perfectly content in funding trillion dollar nation-building projects in Iraq and Afghanistan during the middle of the Great Recession. I doubt the likes of Gatez and MTG are going to convince many that they need to cut off funds to fight an aggressive Russia. Europe is another story. Americans seem very happy to spend money on their national security, while Europeans are only happy when it is Americans spending money on European national security.

@mattayele1906 Trump changed the Republican party to not care about the deficit or national debt. Big government Trump killed the Tea Party Movement as Trump has zero interest in fiscal responsibility or long-term solvency. Most of the excessive stimulus spending happened under Trump instead of Biden, and Trump kept asking Congress for more. It is not possible for Trump to win as he is even more unpopular now than in 2020.
