This won't work, because most of Europe has neglected their military so much. Germany for example has taken months to send weapons to Ukraine because their military hardware is broken due to poor maintenance caused by military budget cuts. Their response is simply too slow.

@antyspi4466 You are missing the point. Germany and other NATO are supposed to mobilize and send troops to bail out the Baltic states if they are invaded by Russia. The Ukraine crisis has shown how incapable most of these European countries are when it comes to basic logistics and maintenance. If it takes them months to repair and send weapons to Ukraine, then they will probably take too long to send troops to save the Baltics.

The Baltic countries just want America troops (payed by America taxpayers) to defend them, so they can continue to ignore their treaty obligations to have military spending at 2% of GDP.

@pax6833 Every war game shows NATO is not prepared to quickly to respond to Russia attack on the Baltics, but Europe (with the exception of Poland) does nothing to prepare. Russia's laughable logistics problems is still ahead of those like Germany.

@znail4675 Germany is part of a wider problem. In Eastern/Central Europe, Poland is the only one capable/willing to send help to the Baltic without America doing all the heavy lifting.

@Rodrigo-rt8pu I don't care what the government website says. Europe aways says they will reach the target, but then cuts the budget when the time comes. NATO says only 5 of 19 NATO countries hit their spending targets. Latvia and Lithuania aren't on that list.
