@olderchin1558 The difference between American and Chinese pessimism is different. Young Americans are upset that their wages aren't keeping up with the cost of living. Young Chinese are upset that they have degrees , yet they are expected to work on assembly line with wages suppressed by government policy.

It's not just about demographics. It is China using unfair trade practices to be an export driven market. The backlash from this is lead to trade restrictions from importers and the CCP is unwilling to reorient the economy to a consumer based model.

@vamoneygroup China actually devalues their currency to keep exports competitive. Otherwise, the trade deficit would drive up the value of their currency and increase worker wages. The factory owners (CCP) don't want that.

@J_X999 Even the Chinese don't want to invest in the Chinese stock market. They find real estate speculation and cash under the mattress as safer uses of money.

@olderchin1558 I'm just repeating public complaints from Chinese youth. I imagine that university educated Chinese want to continue working like peasants who left the farm. Would you not find that upsetting?
