  1. It has more to do with keeping Iran out of the conflict. Iran would think twice about sending weapons and advisors to Gaza as an aircraft carrier sits off the coast.

Meanwhile, Iran might think they are capable of going to war with Israel, but they know picking a fight with the US will end with the death of Iran's dictatorship. They would not risk their own survival over Gaza. Unfortunately, Hezbollah could drag Lebanon and Syria into the conflict if they use the countries as bases of operations. They care more about money from their patrons in Iran than the interests of their people.
