John loves to pretend like theories are facts. For example, he claimed bail reform wouldn't increase crime. Once his suggested bail reform was implemented in Houston, crime skyrocketed. It is a complete disaster. So now when he recommends decriminalization, I assume he is using very cherry picked facts as justification.

@michaelf.2449 There is bail reform, and then there John's liberal pipe dream that you can trust criminals to behave by releasing them without bail. This was implemented across multiple cities and it was such a disaster that many Democrat politicians are trying to reverse coarse without pissing off their abolish-the-police supporters. Now John is suggesting to expand New York's tax-funded crack hotels without waiting to see if there will be unintended consequences. I hope it is successful as a clean needle program, but it is irresponsible to call it a success only a few months after implementation.

@mswen1983 Tell me why you think someone arrested for domestic violence should just be released without bail? Are you really so short sighted that you don't see an issue with that?
2
@XxThunderflamexX Except it isn't just one city. Multiple cities have released alleged criminals without bail and it is a disaster. Many of these cities are trying to undo the policy due to soaring crime rates without losing their progressive credentials. Also, why don't you have an issue with John's cherry picking examples, while claiming mine are unfair? Even if Oliver's team cherry picks facts, they at least use facts. Tucker Carlson is just actively lying with stupid justifications like "I'm just asking questions".

@michaelf.2449 The clean needle program has a good track record, while the supervised injection sites are very new. It is irresponsible to equate the two and to just assume the supervised injection sites are going to be a huge success without unintended consequences. I hope they do work in New York and they expand them nationwide, but I'm smart enough to be skeptical until this "trial" is over.

@michaelf.2449 Because the Nordic countries and Canada are exactly the same as the United States, we should copy their criminal justice policies? America has variables that makes these Nordic policies unworkable such gang culture, a history of systemic racism, a large open border for drug traffickers, est.

@michaelf.2449 Except the gang culture, a history of systemic racism, a large open border for drug traffickers, est. Also, Canada's programs aren't much older than the American trials

@AhsimNreiziev You seriously don't believe culture, values, and economic circumstances having any influence on people? You literally think the only difference between people is government policy? Try reading economics or sociology books, because your knowledge seems limited to progressive Twitter hashtags.

@michaelf.2449 It's different. For example, large Mexican cartels aren't exchanging guns for fentanyl between Maine and Canada. I would go further by saying a one-size-fits-all solution wouldn't even work between states. Such as a program that works in Connecticut might not work in Louisiana.

@mswen1983 Those are misleading stories. There is a reduction in misdemeanor attests, while a surge in violent crimes. Democrats will mislead the public by talking about one thing, while making you think it's something else. Another example is when they talk about "gun deaths" numbers, they imply it's gun violence when the reality is that the vast majority is just suicide by gun. Read your articles more carefully.

@AhsimNreiziev You are very short sighted. Just look how cultural differences have effected covid vaccination rates. Conservative Americans and African Americans are naturally distrustful of the government and prioritize individualism over collective good, so government vaccination campaigns have less of effect on these groups than white liberal populations. This is an obvious example of how the same government policy can have different effects on different populations.
1
@AhsimNreiziev Yes, because African Americans love Fox News. 🙄

@AhsimNreiziev You heard wrong. The numbers say differently than your preconceived notions. Your search for something to satisfy your confirmation bias makes you little different than people who watch Tucker Carlson.
1
@AhsimNreiziev My point exactly. You trust things that confirm you preconceived notions, while only questioning things that challenge your beliefs. You might as well watch Tucker Carlson with that mindset.

@AhsimNreiziev They block links to websites. There are 5 government websites that show vaccination rates among demographics. If you really wanted the truth you would spend five seconds Googling it.
