@unnamedenemy9 Depends. Many (not all) liberals only care about liberal causes until it inconveniences them. Many conservatives (not all) will spend a significantly amount of their paycheck to help people. They just don't want or trust the government to use their taxpayer money responsibly to help the right people. There are hypocrites and great people with different political beliefs, and one shouldn't judge solely on their political opinions.

Wierd how liberal states with excessive taxes and extreme zoning are the ones with the homeless crisis. It is almost as if Democrat policies are making the state unaffordable. How are low wage workers supposed to pay rent with $4/gallon gas and zoning laws that prevent trailers and double wides? Democrats have priorities, and the poor are not near the top of the list.

@TLombardo18 So increase the minimum wage? This increases costs that is passed to consumers and leads to higher unemployment. Unemployment makes it difficult to buy anything.

@ItsStillRealToMe DamnIt Politics is not a good sign of a person's character. For example, homelessness is a good example of liberal hypocrisy. The people of Austin and San Francisco say they care about the homeless, then when these liberals have to see their dirty tents, they demand the cops to send them away. Meanwhile, while conservatives don't want tax payer money to go to the poor, they are significantly more willing to give money to charity.

@draneym2003 Supply side economics lowers the costs for goods and services, so people have more money to spend on things that improve one's quality of life. Meanwhile, California's extreme taxes, restrictive zoning laws, and burdensome regulations has made it nearly impossible for low wage workers to afford anything including rent. That is why California accounts for 28% of the nation’s homeless population.

@JonnyDarts Any ballot in Austin that passes was due to Democrat support, because they outnumber Republicans and Independents by a huge margin. Liberals are voting for that proposition, because they are tired of tent cities and lawlessness. Charity tax write offs are exaggerated and have a less impact for people on a lower tax bracket. (Personally, I would have a lot more money if I donated $0 to charity and just payed the taxes.) I prefer to donate my money to the Houston Food Bank, while food stamps goes to college students that can buy grocery store suchi even though they live with parents rent free. Taxpayer dollars well spent.

@alalalala57 How much of your paycheck goes to "providing a human right"? I have a feeling you are one of liberals who wants to help people as long as you aren't the one paying for it.
