@rufusshinra9124 Saddam wasn't democratically elected, so his legitimacy is based only on his ability to brutalize anyone who opposed him. America left Iraq after their democratically elected parliament voted for the troops to leave and the troops only came back after Iraq begged the US to rescue them from ISIS. Meanwhile, Ukraine is a sovereign democracy that chooses its leaders in free and fair elections.

Obama and Trump were p***ies when dealing with autocrats. Both "men" let Assad and Putin do whatever they want without consequences.

Most nations silently like American intervention because they gain all the benefits without any cost, responsibility, or consequences. Who is seriously going to argue that the world is a better place with Saddam and Al Qaeda free to do whatever they want in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Everyone complains about the Iraq War, but no one ever says the world is better with Saddam in it.

@chrisdiaz9011 Can you honestly tell me that Saddam would have been less violent to Iran-backed Shiite rebels during the Arab Spring? Assad would have looked like Ghanhi compared to Saddam if the butcher was around for the Arab Spring. The man invaded two neighboring countries, drop chemical weapons on his minority population, and operated a secret police whose brutality would have made Mengele horrified.

@gunsnrosesforever100 When America chooses inaction, you get the Rwanda Genocide, the rise of ISIS in Syria, the Russian annexation of Crimea. America is the only nation with both the capability and moral fortitude to take action when others choose to do nothing. Even the Europeans admit that they would do nothing to support their brothers in Ukraine without American backing.
