He wants a return to the Soviet Union even though no one else wants to join.

A) No one called them peaceful B) One group is trying to remove the autocratics, while the other was trying to overturn a democratic election

Just vote. If you don't like the policies, then vote for a new representative.

Economic troubles are often a trigger for protests in undemocratic countries unless the population is too hungry to do anything but beg for food. This isn't new.

@2682shark Those are loosers. Their representatives lost the vote, so these minorities are protesting for attention in order to gain influence for the next election cycle. It is different from protectors demanding a overthrow of the government.
1
@2682shark I'm aware of the protests. You are the one who lacks the understanding that these protesters represent a minority opinion within most of these countries.
1
@2682shark 🙄 Yes. A mask mandate is equivalent to living in North Korea. Just because a group lost a fair election, doesn't mean they are living under tyranny. The protestors you are referring to can't win at the polls, so they are just whining about it with picket signs. This is different from Kazakhstan or Hong Kong where they are protesting because the government is suppressing the views of the majority.

There is also the 1st Amendment and the ability to vote for your representative who decides economic policies.

Putin can't even outwit Lukashenko - the man who said vodka will cure covid. Putin as the grand chessmaster is just a myth.

Good luck convincing Russian trolls that every geopolitical event in the World isn't a CIA plot against Russia.

@TimeMakerDotPH True the American media is bias towards democracy, so the Americans trying to install the losing candidate as President got worst coverage than the the Kazakhstan protestors demanding democracy.

Didn't Putin lie about Russian soldiers in Crimea in 2014? Maybe we shouldn't trust the KGB President's word.
1
@zachdillenger5468 Yet you are naive enough to trust Putin's word after he has been caught lying about troop deployment over and over again.

A Ukraine invasion would have a huge Russia body count. Ukraine has spent the last year building an arsenal and training their troops. They will also fight hard for their home.

@and903903 The Soviets also thought they would be in and out of Afghanistan in a few weeks.

Richer countries just vote out the party in power. Only poor autocratics get violent protests.

@nemanjababic7141 This only happens in young republics that lack good institutions and Democratic traditions. (and Hong Kong, but that was due to outside forces).
