@ThugShakers4Christ I'm pretty sure all the CIA coups he covered didn't make America look great.

I love how the Russian Orthodox Church doesn't see the irony allying with Putin to suppress the opposition.

Fake news. No American company is paying the (time and a half)x(time and half) for a 112 hour work week. It would be cheaper and way more productive to have three different workers share those hours. If you are going to lie, then at least make it plausible.
6
@armyofninjas9055 The American Postal Workers Union wants to go on strike to protest an issue they created? The workers wouldn't have to work as long hours during the holidays if the union didn't limit the USPS's ability to hire part-time and temporary workers. Boo hoo.

@iswitchedsidesforthiscat Definitely a socialist. No one else would consider jobs inherently demeaning and think adults shouldn't have to get a job if they don't want to work. People shouldn't leach off the taxpayers dollars

Someone is looking to improve his social credit score.

@ubercomrade There are forms of control beyond giving direct orders. If you fear what the Supreme Leader will to do to you if you disappoint him, then you will do EVERYTHING you can to get the results you believe he wants to see.
3
@nigeh5326 The difference is when countries outlaw alternative narratives.

I think it is just a nostalgia factor. Trump ran on a "Make America Great Again" that resonated with voters who remember an idolized past that never really existed. I imagine Russia voters may view the Soviet Union in a similar light.
3
@afgor1088 Yes, but the nostalgia lense makes people forget at the bad aspects. In America, people forget about the past's prevalence of racism and sexism, while Russians forget about the hunger and oppression. If you only look at the positive aspects, then the past was wonderful.
3
@afgor1088 Exactly! You already forgot about the hunger.
3
@Mrstrangert392 That is honestly a meaningless statement, because there are 50 states with their own labor laws.
3
@greenkoopa You know it their job is to deliver mail and packages for over 200 years?
3
@christopherconard2831 Not only strikes; Unions were illegal in the Soviet Union.
3
@iswitchedsidesforthiscat I didn't have to work through High School. I choose to. (In America, the hours a 15-year-old could work was extremely limited by the government law.) You must be a socialist, because no one else would look down on someone for having a job.
3
The two party system has elections within elections. For example, you can find what is equivalent to a socialist party in almost every primary of the Democratic Party. Republican parties also have several competing wings too: religious, pro-business, libertarian, and Trump personality cult.
3
@afgor1088 Senator Bernie Sanders is an Independent who self identifies as a Democrat Socialist.

After murdering most of previous teams, Stalin used fear to have almost total control of his team.
2
@ubercomrade You think Stalin not having direct control of everything in the Soviet Union means that the Soviet Union wasn't a system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state. You sound a bit one-dimensional. Very sad.
2
@julianshepherd2038 Was the goal of WW1 to defend freedom? I honestly don't see what was the point of the conflict. I think most in the West recognized the irony of working with one oppressive regime to topple another. It is why the Cold War between the West and Soviet Union started before WW2 even ended.

Nepotism implies the job was given to the son by his father which is far from the truth. Bush Sr. couldn't even give himself a second term, because the voters kicked him out. Bush Jr. did benefit from name recognition, but voters also thought he was qualified for the job due to being him elected governor to Texas - one of the most populous and richest states.
2
@thomasmuntzer1004 Kennedy has one brother become Senator after his death and Romney became governor of a completely different state from his father. This hardy seems like a political dynasty. If America wanted dynasties then they wouldn't have rejected Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton in 2016. Stalin's kids were idiots, so they were easily pushed aside. Cuba and North Korea's Communist governments are passed to the Supreme Leaders' relatives. Also, don't misquote me. "Name recognition" is different from "name & recognition".
2
@thomasmuntzer1004 So Bush Jr was chosen by his father as president and not because the voters liked the governor of state with the world 12th biggest economy. However, the Communist Party that was handpicked by Castros only gave the job to his brother due to his qualifications. 🙄

@chriss780 I worked since I was 15 years old. What's your point?
2
You say that, but there is nothing to stop you from creating your own party.
2
@haenselundgretel654 Or you lack charisma and/or a popular views

Because Democrats aren't trying to make Washington DC and Puerto Rico into states to ensure a permanent control of Congress and the White House? In addition, the progressives are demanding to stack the court with judges who will legislate from the bench.
1
@BTScriviner Just because Trump has zero respect for democracy, it doesn't mean Democrats care about anything other than retaining power. Do you think Nacy Pelosi wants to lower the voting age to 16 because she cares about their rights? Naive. She knows that 16-17 will vote Democrat just because Taylor Swift and Katy Perry told them to on TikTok. You are so deep down the rabbit hole that you aren't any different from MAGA hats when comes to demagoguery and conspiracies.
1
@BTScriviner Your elected officials are in power by doing what needed to be done to get elected. Ideals are always second to that, because you can't do anything if you lose the election. Just look at the election laws these last few years. Low information and low motivation voters tend to prefer Democrats. This is why Democrats want to lower the voting age and to ballot harvest low information voters. Republicans on the other hand only want people who know and care about the issues to vote so they have laws that limit the ability to vote outside of the polling station on election day, because the low information voters tend to sit out elections. Democrat leaders don't care about voting rights. Republican leaders don't care about election security. They only care to win. It is naive to think otherwise.
1
@akosbarati2239 You seriously believe half the country voted Republican to suppress minorities? How brainwashed are you? Are you so narrow minded that you can't even imagine that there are conservatives who believe a small government has improve economic prosperity for all Americans? You're honestly not much different from MAGA hats who stereotype all Democrats as Communist. Lastly, don't make up facts about homelessness. The majority are dealing with temporary economic issues and are not veterans. In addition to publicly available statistics, common sense will tell you this. If the majority were veterans, then homelessness would predominantly be in South (where Americans source most of their soldiers) instead of blue states like California where people can't afford rent due to politicians making everything cost too much due to excessive taxes and regulations.

The difference with Western propaganda is there is availability of outside information that can challenge the propaganda.
1
Trump is an example that the elites don't have that much of say who their candidates are. If the party leaders had a choice, they would have denied Trump from running in their primaries in 2016.
