The currect law says the government can't turn away non-Mexicans who claim to seek asylum, so now we have millions of economic migrants making bogus asylum claims, knowing the overwhelmed court system can't process them for years. The border deal can reduce the number of crossings and give more resources to quickly reject bogus asylum claims. Congressional Republicans and Trump are saying Biden should just break the law so Republicans don't have a vote on changing the law.

  2. Republicans and Democrats negotiated a bill with some compromises that gave Republicans most of what they wanted. Trump's solution is to make a partisan bill without any compromises, so Republicans can get nothing they want. Johnson and Trump don't know how to govern.

  3. Republicans' excuse is that Biden can just ignore the law and close the border to those claiming they are seeking asylum. If that was possible, then Trump would have done it without Title 42.
