  4.  @willmorrison1022  What in the tax code makes it more profitable to manufacture in China than the United States? I know you have nothing. Lower labor cost and strong dollar dive manufacturing jobs overseas. Meanwhile, the 7 biggest companies aren't creating most of their value from the manufacturing. Most of the value is created from software engineers in California.

China in the 2000s was offering huge tax breaks to foreign direct investments, and they were artificially manipulating their currency to drive down the already low Chinese wages even lower. Meanwhile, American unions kept demanding higher wages without increasing productivity. The Chinese basically paid American companies to switch to cheaper labor.
