  1.  @burnttoast111  Everyone knew it was a losing cause without US support. We could have for relatively cheaply kept the Afghan government in power forever if we just continue to operate one or two military bases in the country. However, US politicians put personal political interests over common sense policy.

  3.  @burnttoast111  The Philippines and Colombia have been fighting insurgents for decades. Because the government hasn't "won" yet, should we pull all military support and surrender the country to Marxists? Your spending numbers are also BS. The amount of military spending in Afghanistan is relatively small, especially if you note that fact the US has expensive military bases and active carrier battle groups across the world. It also not like the conflict is over. Al Qaeda and ISIS are operating within the country, so military operations aren't over. However, without support on the ground, the operations will be much less effective.
