Basically, Brazil wants to trade with human rights violators without worrying about sanctions. Russia war crimes and Chinese putting Muslims in camps shouldn't get in the way of Brazil trade. I guess....

@salvadoramaya4908 What action has a NATO country taken since the end of the Cold War that is comparable to Russian targeting bombing civilians or the Chinese putting Muslims in camps? Examples! Vaguely listing countries is nonsensical.
18
@salvadoramaya4908 What false equivalency or conspiracy theory are you going to point to that compares to Russia target bombing hospitals and the Chinese putting Muslims in concentration camps?
13
@salvadoramaya4908 Let's also not ignore that Putin assassinates his rivals - like shooting down a private jet

@shikolitrevour9736 And Russia had serfs. You are justify current human rights violations based on things that happened 80+ years.
9
@kameraldbahrul3432 Are you talking about the Taliban who is happy to not have America interfere with hosting terrorists groups and stoning women to death, or are you talking about Iraq's new, democratically elected government whose sovereignty was respected when they asked America to leave?
8
@kameraldbahrul3432 You mean the Afghanistan who went into famine as soon as the Taliban took over?

BasedMemeonInternet Let's also not ignore that Putin assassinates his rivals - like shooting down a private jet

@freeworld88888 China and India are the only parties in BRICS that matter. Russia and S. Africa are jokes, and Brazil is barely a regional player.
5
@silvadossantos6803 I agree. Russia should respect Ukraine's borders, and if Ukraine wants alliances outside of Russia's influence
4
@Western_Decline The G7 has shared values that help help it work towards a common good. Meanwhile, BRICS doesn't do anything except complain about sanctions.

@@Placeofcoyotes Clown emoji: Textbook sign one is too dim to make a coherent point

@xinyiquan666 China's navy isn't even capable of sailing to India. The ships are too small for long trips, and they don't have support vassals to keep them fueled.
2
@tracymcgrady6953 👈 Says the clown who thinks Progizhin's plane had an "mechanical" issue because that is what Russia TV told him
2
@okosuntom2808 You misspelled "facts"
2
@lenOwOo Putting one's country's interests over all other considerations is what happened when Europe colonized Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Look at how that amoralism turned out for India, China, and South Africa.

China would never give up their capital controls, and no one else would trust the Chinese with their currency. At best, BRICS could build an alternative to SWIFT. Even that would be a struggle as an alternative would be sanctioned, and no one would choose trade with BRICS over the West.
1
Every BRICS member would throw the others under the bus to secure trade with the G7. Even Russia would prefer if the EU bought its oil instead of India and China.
1
@Quetzaltbird Saudi Arabia and Iran are only playing nice for the cameras as a favor for China. No steps have been taken to open trade or stop the proxy fights.
1
@axelblaze8789 Turkey isn't in the EU
1
@PlaYer-sn5or A) China's monetary policy has been to prop up the value of the dollar to help its exports. Weakening the dollar is the opposite of what China wants. B) China doesn't have friends. China has vassals. Just look at how China treats Russia. Russia is struggling, and instead of helping Russia, China demands a significant discount on Russia oil. Friends would have paid market value.
1
@axelblaze8789 Japan isn't the only G7 country to buy Russian oil. Some members just took longer to find alternative suppliers.
1
fakerrts China is building a military presence in Sir Lanka and Pakistan. China is literally trying to surround India.
1
fakerrts America choosing not to be involved in more military conflicts in the Middle East isn't a sign of a lack of capability. It is a choice. Between all the military bases and carrier fleets, the US can strike anywhere in the world within two days.
1
fakerrts Saudi Arabia was going to ignore America no matter what they said. The Sauds' government deficit has been concerningly high for a very long time, and they were desperate for an opportunity to bring in more cash.
1
@tshesebeneo6946 It happened in South Africa because BRIC wanted an S, but South Korea said no.
1
@xinyiquan666 The snow crab fishermen had bigger ships than what the Chinese were sailing near Alaska
1
@xinyiquan666 Chinese lightly armed, technology unsophisticated ships are a joke. America doesn't even consider the Chinese navy a threat. The only thing the US Navy worries about from China is the land based missiles. If we going simply by tonnage, America New York boat club is a bigger force than the Chinese. Obviously, tonnage isn't everything.
1
@xinyiquan666 👏👏👏 The Chinese have the logistics to fight Somalia fishermen.
1
@yudogcome5901 Commodity sellers don't tend to be rich countries (Dutch disease). Even Saudi Arabia wouldn't be rich if it wasn't for OPEC price fixing. China's domestic and trade currencies are separate, and they are undesirable to the outside world. Only 2% of the world's international trade is in China's loyal currency, and almost half of that is just between the mainland and Hong Kong.
1
@yudogcome5901 Most of the world is ignoring the Russian economy.
1
@xinyiquan666 The Chinese education system is lacking if they think a big cargo ship is comparable to Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. China's military is built like Russia. That means China's navy is flashy with exaggerated capabilities but lacks the logistical capability to wage war far from its border. Sailing a few ships across the ocean is hardly the same as a fleet needed to be resupplied fuel, food, and ammunition. A cruise ship could sail from China to Africa, but it doesn't mean its a military threat.
1
@iandinniz2393 What is the point adding more BRICS members? If you want a bunch of countries across several regions with competing interests that don't accomplish anything, then you have the UN.
1
@sanndisoeryadi6521 Russia generals come up with strategies to blow up hospitals and grain destined to feed starving Africans. What false equivalency or conspiracy are you going to point to America doing?
1
@kameraldbahrul3432 Obviously, Assad isn't happy that Americans make the Russians too scared to bomb hospitals in eastern Syria like they do in western Syria.
1
@Chrislaw-71 Innocent people were being killed because Iraqis were murdering one another over petty religious and ethnic differences. Americans were mostly fighting Al Qaeda, and militias were trying to stop the Americans from forming a democracy. The stupidest part is that those militias became the dominant political parties in the democracy they were trying to prevent from being created. Meanwhile, Russia target bombed hospitals, churches, schools, and civilian infrastructure because the imperialists were mad that Ukrainians voted for a leader who wanted closer trade ties with the EU.
1
@dashnaso You mean the nuclear weapons used almost a century ago to help China be liberated from their imperial oppressors? That justifies China's Muslim concentration camps and Russia blocking food from going to starving Africans?
1
@shurenrao7721 Examples? I can name the hospitals Russia has bombed and give the satellite coordinates to Chinese Muslim camps. Meanwhile, Russian and Chinese trolls can only quote vague accusations from their state-controlled media.
1
@xfactor6099 Examples? I can name the hospitals Russia has bombed and give the satellite coordinates to Chinese Muslim camps. Meanwhile, Russian and Chinese trolls can only quote vague accusations from their state-controlled media.
1
@_Wai_Wai_ Russia and China are currently autocratic governments with imperial ambitions. Russia is trying to re-colonize Eastern Europe, and China is trying to colonize the South China Sea.
1
@EggRoll0301 Yes. Russia is justified in kidnapping children and bombing hospitals because the US attacked the Taliban after the 9/11 attack. Yes. China is justified in putting Muslims in concentration camps and harvesting the organs of persecuted minorities because the US overthrew Saddam Hussain, the man who invaded three different neighbors and used chemical weapons on his own people. What other false equivalency would you like to justify?
1
@DimitarBerberu Stretching back over a century to justify child murder. Russian trolls have zero shame.
1
@oilnfire No one wants worthless BRICS currencies. Brazil's ideological closeness to Venezuela and China's currency manipulation scares investors from wanting unnecessarily risky currencies. Brazil and China need to reform their economy if that want a currency equivalent to the Euro.
1
@nkosinathingcobo6051 China and India don't really want the dollar to devalue as it would hurt their export competitiveness and devalue their reserves. They just don't like sanctions. Their gullible citizens are just looking for propaganda to justify BRICS existence.
1
@neko1533 Whataboutism - the last bastion for those without a legitimate argument to make. The false equivalency between American locking up criminals with due process to China rounding up minorities for being "too Muslim" is completely unhinged. Enjoy your $0.50 for your post.
