Is it really surprising that young conscripts with mostly small arms don't want to face down a mechanized assault? Especially when their commanders already fled.

@SlawaW Based on data from the Russian state. Considering how Russia has falsified covid death and war causality numbers, I would take those numbers with a grain of salt.

@valyshknee4203 Source: The same state media that says Prigozhin died in an accident and the "Special Military Operation" isn't a war.

@artemaung5274 There are a few differences. *Ukrainian commanders didn't flee and leave their soldiers behind. *Ukrainian territory defense forces were locals, while these Russian conscripts were pulled from across the country *Ukrainian had artillery support to destroy armored divisions in every major front (even though Javelins & Bayraktars got most of the credit). *Ukraine forces' lighting assault wasn't like the Russians, where they had a bunch of parked tanks without fuel.

Anyone who has been to a bar. The mind control effects of alcohol is the only explanation to explain how women would suddenly think I'm funny and good looking.

@NeovanGoth It is against the Geneva Convention to pressure POWs to disparage their home country. All they are required to give is their name and rank.

To be fair, I imagine the Ukrainians are pressuring them to say that to the camera. It isn't the first time.

To be fair, Ukraine uses much of the same equipment, especially during the opening days of the invasion, and Ukraine used the equipment well because of competent and less corrupt leadership.

@Locoocol69 Due to the power balance between the state and prisoner, coercion is implied. It is why it is considered a war crime to use POWs in propaganda.

Based on comment section, it looks like Russians are mixing antifree with vodka, because only brain damage could explain the stupidity of these Russian trolls.

@Peter_Scheen These 40-year-old tanks that both sides are using in the Ukraine War were modern 40 years ago. The Soviet Union also had a bigger population, a massive industrial base, and a more organized mobilization program.
2
@EdinoRemerido The conscripts that are pleading Putin for help. I will never understand how Russians think all of Putin's subordinates are corrupt, but he isn't.
2
These are the war crimes Sergey did to his "Slavic brothers". Imagine what he was doing to Muslims in Syria.
2
@Chickymasala You are missing the point. He is talking about expanding borders and conquering populations.

It is called Russia. A frozen hellhole.

@robertdragusin5302 I'm not saying that they are mistreated. However, that doesn't mean it is right to have POWs be used in a country's propaganda.

Putin. Orban. Trump. Make Autocrats Great Again.

@Nedula007 Assad had a loyal ethnic-relgious support base who saw his power as the key to their survival. I'm sure Putin can find a small Russian population to act as it's proxies like in Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova, but wouldn't be much of a force based on Belarus' demographics.

I believe it when I see it. Russia had claimed to capture Bakhmut about a hundred times before actually controlling the city.

It's a shame no one cared when they were doing worse to the Syrians.

@shadowsanddust2 Russia killed 10% of the Afghan population over a ten year war.

The liberal minority left the country for better opportunities elsewhere. Putin let them leave rather than keep an unhappy, educated population.
