@petersouthernboy6327 I live in Houston. My whole family works in refineries or finances oil infrastructure. Canada didn't invest in export infrastructure because the US was a reliable trade partner, so the discount to American companies was worth it. However, with the Trump backstabbing, Canadain companies and governments are already reaching out into investing in the infrastructure to sell to Asia. This will lose America's discount.

@petersouthernboy6327 That is half the story. Due to a lack of infrastructure to export to anyone other than America, American companies buy Canadian oil sands cheaper than oil sands on the open market

@petersouthernboy6327 This isn't an either/or thing. America under Trump is a failure when it comes to protecting democracy and the rule of law. Canada has also been freeloading on American defense spending.

@kingbeeforever Most Canadian oil sold to Asia goes through Houston because they haven't built much infrastructure to do it themselves.
