NATO wasn't even willing to fight a weak military like the Taliban to defend their own people against terrorist attacks, but you think they want to fight Russian soldiers for Ukraine's industrial wasteland? Putin has convinced you that the West is out to get Russia, but no one really cares about Russia. Unlike China, Russia is an economic disaster without any soft power. Russia is the diplomatic equivalent of North Korea where they use military threats and cyber attacks as tantrums for attention.

  29.  @lizafrolkis8185  Republicans don't want to add another 2 trillion dollars in deficit spending that our kids will end up paying for, so the GOP wants to reduce the number to $1000 and only want to send it to the poorest earners instead of to people who don't need it. Democrats also want to add non-covid related attachments to the bill like bailing out Blue states that have huge pre-covid, budget deficits and a mandatory $15 minimum wage (the final nail in coffin for struggling restaurants). It is a reasonable compromise where no one gets everything they want, but Progressives refuse to accept compromise anymore.

It is the same logic the Roman's had when lived under a dormant volcano that has never erupted. But guess what, Pompeii erupted and killed everyone. At some point, the interest payments from the balloning debt will be so high that kids will have pay their way out. But who cares about our kids future as longs Democrat states don't have to balance their budgets and you get $2000 of "free" money?
