  4.  @ltfreeborn  Employers have to pay part of unemployment, so they don't like to fire people needlessly as it costs money. Also, unemployment typically only applies when you are laid off through no fault of your own. I have denied unemployment to fired employees who stole from the company and those who didn't show up to work without calling.

  5. All the stimulus checks and unconditional unemployment payments operated in 2020-2021 operated as bui, and it resulted in millions not showing up to work. For many people, if the government is going to pay their bills, then they will simply choose not to work.
