It solves the problem of unstable dictatorships. Democracies with rule of law tend to attract investments that are required to build infrastructure and grow an economy.

If you already know everything, then why even watch the video?

@u.2b215 It is relative. Rwanda is growing, but it still missing out on foreign investment, because dictatorships have the unnecessary risk of a leader who seizing assets without the leader having restrictions of the rule of law.

@u.2b215 Dictatorships can't have rule of law, because the law is meaningless when the dictatorship controls the courts, makes the laws, and only enforces the one that benefit himself. You can disagree with this point, but investors believe this. It is the reason why investors rarely involve themselves with autocrats and when they due they require the businesses in those countries to pay an extra risk premium to them.

Africa is a poor. A wealthy country in Africa would be considered poor in Europe by comparison.

@jordangardner7836 Prior to the edit, all the post said "I'm not ignorant so I can point it out on a map without help". This comes off as a pointlessly condescending comment from a troll. Is wrong to question why people feel the need to be needlessly rude.

That requires more infrastructure and education.

@bayshawnmalik Is your grammar intentionally bad as some sort of meta joke?

@bayshawnmalik I want to respond to your current comment, but will probably just edit it to something else to cover up your lack of critical thinking.

@u.2b215 Dictatorships can't have rule of law, because the law is meaningless when the dictatorship controls the courts, makes the laws, and only enforces the one that benefit himself. Even autocrats the West likes have difficulty getting private investment. Just look at America's (begrudgingly) favorite autocrat, the Sauds. They been failing to get foreign investment for decades. Most non-democratic countries also have capital controls, because locals prefer to invest in stable democracies over local autocrats. Russians for example has more wealth outside of Russia than within.

Corruption, colonialism, and ethnic violence seems to be the root of Africa's problems.

@josephaku9631 It sounds like you agree that Europe is rich compared to Africa.
1
@josephaku9631 I don't disagree that colonialism had a negative effect on Africa's economy. However, your orginal statement denied that Africa is a poor continent which is just factually untrue.
