Technically, Argentina wouldn't be considered "socialist", because the government isn't running the businesses. However, their left-wing policies are very anti-business.

@johnkubik8559 All their steaks are going to be cut up by a butcher? How can anyone afford that to pay that type of premium in a stagnant economy that doesn't care about growth?

@johnkubik8559 There was won't be any meat for anyone but a few rich people. Without industrialization or cheap imports, the price of consumer goods would be much higher than anywhere else. In addition, there will be less money for everyday people to spend due to economic stagnation causing unemployment and lower incomes. China took the pro foreign investment approach that brought billions of people out of poverty. India has a bigger population problem dealing with poverty, because they preferred protectionism and more regulation. But who is to say they don't like to live in poverty 🙄?
