@E M I actually voted for Biden because I didn't trust that Trump cared about anything except himself. However, I still don't think Biden was qualified for the job either, and I only voted for him due to a lack of alternatives. Of course, I imagine you are a partisan hack who could see Biden on a ventilator and still argue how healthy he is.
1
@E M I'm sure that means Boris Johnson is the greatest leader in UK history as apparently support for Ukraine is the only issue that matters. It doesn't matter that Biden's poor policies lead to more inflation, an open border, higher crime, high fuel prices, and the Taliban returning to power.
1
@timonsolus Roosevelt couldn't walk. He wasn't having mental decline and forced to take naps multiple times a day.
1
Tucker would not give a fair interview. It would be leading questions and pro-Putin editing.
1
This didn't stop the destruction of ISIS, and this won't stop the destruction of Hamas.
1
@richardloach610 Hamas was mutilating babies
1
@נילגןעדן Freedom fighters don't target civilians and mutilate babies. Those are terrorists.
1
@imtrashyyy1171 I would argue the ones mutilating babies are the terrorists.
1
@docprune9922 Obviously, they came to the same conclusion as most new weapon packages involve ammunition and air defense as a priority over fighter jets
1
@docprune9922 You know how usefulness of the Western equipment is based on the reaction of Russia. You know it is usefulness if the Russians threaten nuclear war over the weapon system when it is announced, and then you definitely know it a problem for Russia when the state propaganda says it is useless and outdated as it arrives on the battlefield.
1
@goenzoy712 Your critical thinking skills are lacking. The fact that a much smaller state like Ukraine can do so much damage to Russia is the point. Russia has failed every strategic objective, with the exception of the Crimea land bridge, with the cost being their economy, legacy Soviet weapons stockpiles, and tens of thousands of Russian lives. Even Russia's ability to hold the land bridge is in question. Smarter people than you will see this as a cautionary tale.
1
@goenzoy712 What consequences? How about 35,500-43,000 killed in action and 154,000-180,000 wounded? What about a shrinking economy and rising unemployment? What about Russia's brain drain as young men flee abroad? What about all the destroyed Soviet equipment that Russia doesn't have the capability to replace? What about pushing Finland into NATO? What about a rearming of Europe? BTW: Russia has a trade surplus because they can't buy anything because no one will take their useless currency. The upcoming recession will also trigger a drop in oil prices, which will make Russian discounts to China and India unprofitable. This would basically destroy the Russian economy more than any sanctions. If you know anything about US politics, then you will know the Pro-Putin MAGA candidates can't win elections. Ukraine aid will continue to flow.
1
@daydays12 Exactly. They have never entered Ukrainian air space because these "steath" fighters will get detected and shot down. These show pieces are getting destroyed on the runway where the Russians thought they were safe.
1
Crimea is the bridge to the other parts of Russian occupied Ukraine. The Donbas is the one that needs the supply through Crimea
1
@ArendJanV Too much training, logistics, and maintenance would be required before advance fighters would be useful. Tanks and long range rockets would be cheaper and more useful in the short window where Ukraine can push Russia back.
1
I wonder if Iran will resort to assassination plots like they did with John Bolton after the US drone strike against the leader of the Qad force.
1
No. Zelenskyy would just have NATO fight Russia on Ukraine's behalf.
1
Not every Republican believes in this MAGA nonsense. There is a sizable minority in the party who still believes in the principles of Reagan and Lincoln.
1
There are basically trenches everywhere you can drive a tank. Good luck driving through a swamp.
1
@B.D.E. I wasn't arguing against going over the trenches. I was saying there isn't really a place to go around the fortifications like Belgium and the Maginot Line.
1
@Withnail1969 We will see. Russian conscripts tend to squander every advantage given to them. In the Kharkiv offensive, Russians abandoned modern tanks to flee from Ukrainians driving Toyotas and dune buggies.
1
It's propaganda. The autocrats need a boogeyman to justify all the horrible things they do.
1
@@WilliamStewart-dc4xh There will be no WW3. The Russian military would launch a coup if Putin ordered an attack on NATO as the Russian military would be crushed and if nukes were used than they would all be dead. After the Wagner attack, Putin knows how vulnerable he is. WW3 saber rattling is just dumb Russian propaganda
1
@geoffreycodnett6570 Taliban, no. Saddam's army, yes.
1
@mirkovic What has NATO taken from Russia?
1
Trump hates to read, and he finds policy. Why do Republicans keep pushing for Trump to talk policy?
1
MAGA just follows the whims of Trump, and then they try to justify it later. Trump likes Putin because Trump envies autocrats. MAGA ❤ 🇷🇺 Trump hates Zelenskyy because the Ukrainian president wouldn't open a sham investigation against Trump's political opponent. MAGA 🤬 🇺🇦
1
An energy crisis could trigger a global recession and give more power to pro-Putin populist in the West.
1
The idea that Russia needs to take Ukraine to protect their territory from Europe is ridiculous. As long as Russia has nukes, they don't have to worry about a war of aggression against Russia.
1
@maestro6458 The US/UK only got involved with Ukraine after Russian aggression in 2014. Before that. Ukraine's main western ties were economic ties with the EU. Putin didn't like Ukraine's economic ties with the EU, because Russia's corrupt oligarch economy can't compete with the EU's competitive free market.
1
@maestro6458 Russia has their navy and China has their army in Cuba. Based on your logic, should America launch a special military operation into Cuba?
1
Defense's theory: Michael Cohen, the selfish liar, paid off Stormy due to the kindness of his heart, without Trump's knowledge, to silence Stormy for an affair that never happened. There are so many contradictions.
1
@3s0t3r1c Defense spending. The US taxpayers are footing the bill to protect Europe's interests, while they keep cutting military spending. Just look at how the US military had to mobilize in Syria stop ISIS from planning terrorist attacks against European cities. Now Russia is knocking on Europe's doorstep and the EU is still expecting the US to do all the heavy lifting. I could continue with multiple other examples.
1
@kenmurray4005 Estonia was a freeloader until 2014 with minimal contributions to NATO until Russia threatened them more directly. In fact, Estonia has very little to give Ukraine because their military spending on advance hardware is so recent.
1
@SimplyVanis They gave all their manpads because they had so few to give. The decades of freeloading resulted in an embarrassingly small stockpile of military equipment. I like point out the Western Europe is much, much worst.
1
@billy6pack887 Russia has half the territory they controlled six months ago. That hardly seems like winning. Ukraine is a democracy fighting against an authoritarian power with imperial ambitions. Seems like a good enough reason to support Ukraine in their defense.
1
@billy6pack887 I'm guessing they don't teach what a pyrrhic victory is in Russian military academies. Losing thousands of soldiers you can't spare on an offensive of a fortified position with little strategic value is not the smartest strategy. If wasn't for all the propaganda value, Ukrainians would probably retreat from Bakhmut to let the Russians throw themselves against the even more fortified cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk. (Cities with actual strategic value unlike Bakhmut).
1
@billy6pack887 Obviously the Soviet tradition of treating young men as expendable continues. At least Stalin's Red Army had a cause worth fighting for in WW2. Putin is sending people to die over conspiracy theories of his own making.
1
@billy6pack887 Russia is not fighting for survival like WW2, so there is a limit to the people's willingness to sacrifice lives and treasure. Look at the limits on manpower. The pool for volunteers had dried up and the regime would be on shaky ground if another mobilization is called. Russia also has difficulty replacing their weapons due to a combination of dependence on Western imports and sanctions. On the low-tech end, they are spending more ammunition than they can possible replace. Meanwhile, Ukraine can source their weapons from the US, Europe, South Korea, and Japan.
1
Unfortunately, the Russians own the news cycle as the Ukrainians ask for operational silence.
1
MAGA is the treason wing of the Republican party. They are Pro-Kremlin and advocates of overturning elections.
1
Because Putin since 1999 has made sure only he can be president.
1
@RobertBrian-h6c Anyone who has to deal with the repercussions of bad American policy
1
@RobertBrian-h6c "We" is the people who have to deal with the consequences of poor American policy. Almost everyone.
1
It is interesting how he has had the same stance for two years, and the political establishment has been moving to his way of thinking bit by bit.
1
First, Putin will pay Trump through his crypto exchange, Truth Social, or Middle East hotels to withdraw from NATO. This bribery will be an official act, so it can't be prosecuted according to the Supreme Court.
1
Putin invades the Baltics. Trump: "Putin can do whether he wants, because NATO should have spent 2% of GDP." Meanwhile, the Baltic countries spend almost 4% of GDP.
1
Africa is a source of higher grain profit for Putin. Why else bomb Ukrainian grain silos?
1
OPEC+ just threw Putin a lifeline. Only a Chinese recession (a major drop in oil demand) will sink Russia 's economy.
1
The Russian government is built on a system of corruption instead of merit. This makes them very vulnerable to foreign intelligence infiltration.
