  2. Democrats weren't voted out for being unprepared for wildfires in California or being unprepared for Hurricane Sandy in NJ and NY. Voters don't tend to blame their leaders for not being ready for unforeseeable natural disasters.

I have lived in Texas for almost 30 years and have only seen snow stick to the roads once before this week and that only lasted a few hours. Anyone who said this is expected is a liar. California's blackouts were caused by lack of natural gas plants. You can always burn more fossil fuels during surges for more power, but you can't turn the sun up for solar plants. Also, California ignored good forestry to appease the wealthy who had secondary homes in the mountains.
