Indrid Cold Plenty of governors act that way. You just don't hear about them because only "woke" Democrats and "culture war" Republicans get media coverage. You never hear about the governors balancing the budget and growing the economy.

@joebriggs5781 The far right tend to push strict abortion restrictions and attacks on gay marriage. DeSantis instead go after culture war things that independents care about such teachers pushing "woke" politics on children. White moms who voted for Obama turned on the Democrats when they started teaching white children that they were born "privilege" and inheritly racist. Plus, Trump's coup attempts, election lies, covid lies, and criminal activity has scared away independents. The last three election cycles have shown this.
