@mfoco1 Congress' job is also to be a check on the executive branch by investigating waste and corruption. That being said, this looks more like a fishing expedition on a political rival than good faith governing.

@DE4D_Pool What evidence? I would be unsurprised if Biden did something criminal, but Republicans haven't shown any evidence. Every accusation is circumstantial at best and conspiratorial at worst.

@seanhovan7426 Shokin, the Ukrainian prosecutor, was requested to be fired by the IMF, the Ukrainian Ambassador, most of the Ukrainian population, and many other institutions. The case that attracted the most negative attention to Shokin involved the arrest of a Kyiv city prosecutor. During the arrest, authorities seized several million dollars worth of diamonds at the prosecutor’s home. Not only did Shokin release the prosecutor, but he also returned his diamonds. The steady complaint was that Shokin blocked all attempts to have the Yanukovych crooks arrested or any of the billions they had stolen recovered. Shokin successfully blocked any asset recovery, and he did so in a very blatant fashion.
