  1. They were using civilian vehicles with their successful thunder runs. Imagine if they had real equipment.

  2.  @Grant80  The Ukrainians made the Russians run away using pickups that couldn't survive small arms fire. Some of their off road vehicles didn't even have doors. While not a game changer, it is definitely an improvement for survivability to use equipment with better armor and sighting. Sometimes the more boring equipment can be more important. Look at Russia's failed Kiev offensive. Russian tanks were impressive, but they were useless without working trucks to transport fuel and ammunition.
