@godfreecharlie People don't want to be challenged in their viewpoint. They want be told they are right, so they will only consume information that fits their preconceived notions.

Marx's writings make very good points when it comes to why capitalism sucks. However, he was very wrong about socialism being a better system.

@Sorcerers_Apprentice The Soviet Union didn't collapse because of authoritarianism. It fell apart, because people were miserably poor due to an economic system that produces inefficiencies and discourages innovation. Why do you think China kept the one party system while getting away from their socialist roots?

@benjiorchard1203 Then why did the SU collapse during Gorbachev's de-stalinization? The economy didn't improve as they closed the gulags, because command economies don't work.

@keithstewart934 Much like Sigmund Freud in his field, Marx did a lot to advance the field of economics and sociology. Both men got a lot wrong, but they are still key figures in their fields that others built upon their work.

@mitonaarea5856 Trump propaganda? GDP, Military sizes, and even the number of functioning democracies is measurable. It has nothing to do with the president's tweets. While China is growing, the United States is still #1.

@kazohinia5751 Who cares? PPP is bad measure of economic size, because it is largely effected by currency manipulation and trade protections. GDP is a better measure.
