Putin has three bad options. 1) Do nothing and risk Ukrainians flanking south 2) Send in conscripts who will be decimated by better trained, better equipped, and more experienced Ukrainian soldiers 3) Redeploy forces from their Donbas offensives which would likely doom the Russian summer offensive
