Democrats either don't understand or care about small businesses.

I don't know many skilled trades that don't make around $15. It is the unskilled labor that tends to make minimum wage.

@barbarawashington8318 Many workers are barely worth $7.25/hour due to stupidity and laziness. If the minimum wage goes up to $15/hour, then those people won't be able to find anyone to keep them employed at that price. Then unemployment would pay $0/hour. On the other hand, even unskilled, hardworking employees can find jobs that pay close to $15/hour because they are worth that productivity.

@gabemendoza1052 Unions drive businesses under because they prevent managers from firing due to laziness or employee misconduct. The most visible example is how police unions prevent cities from firing cops who shoot unarmed children.

@gabemendoza1052 I worked at a unioned company that is circling the drain. Our non-union competitors are putting us out of business, because they fire unproductive workers or ones who give poor customer service. My company's union won't let management fire lazy employees or even ones who cuss out customers.

@emuriddle9364 My electric bill went up ×10, because I'm not stressing it, because I can join a class action for price gouging. Also, I have lived in Texas for about 30 years and I have never seen freezing temperatures last more than half a day. I frankly would have ridiculed the state for winterizing before last week.

@gabemendoza1052 That sounds like public sector union that can have union inefficiencies due having a natural monopoly in the city. That is unworkable in the private sector. There is a reason most unionized labor works in the public sector now.

@emuriddle9364 That is why the government invests in education. People should be payed more for having a skill that makes them more productive instead of paying people more for just showing up.
