It depends on how you define "winning and losing." If you look at it from as achieving objectives, then Ukraine has achieved more. Russia failed to change the Ukraine government, has yet to successfully annex any territory, has failed to demilitarize Ukraine, and failed to prevent the expansion of NATO. Ukraine's objectives are to retain their sovereignty and recapture their territory. Ukrainians have retained their sovereignty and pushing Russia out of more territory is more realistic than Russia's objectives.

@colonelangus8247 The issues was already settled by Russia in 1991. In the Budapest Memorandum, Russia agreed to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial borders in exchange for Ukraine giving up their nukes. In addition, the imperialist invasions have been outlawed by UN post WW2, but I guess fascist Russia didn't get the message.

@colonelangus8247 There isn't a border dispute. The pre-2014 borders are the territorial borders that Russia agreed in the 90s in a treaty. This is simply Putin's imperial ambitions to expand his empire like fascist Germany did in WW2.

@mrderp1292 True, it is an obvious lie that NATO said they wouldn't move eastward. There is no record of such an agreement, so Russians are just taking the word of their KGB president that has a history of lying.
