@michaelkgrantj Clearly, you put zero thought into your statements. Borders are necessary as long as there is a social safety net. There is currently enough high skilled labor paying taxes to pay for the less fortunates' welfare, healthcare, and social security. What happens when you let in a bunch of non-English speaking, unskilled laborers who require government benefits? Answer: They take money that was payed for by American taxpayers that was supposed to go to help other Americans.

Remember Democrats had a meltdown when a few thousand migrants arrived in Washington DC, Chicago, and New York City? I guess the Democrats were upset because they are racist?

@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeings You care comparing apples to pickup trucks. These people are not dissidents, persecuted minorities, or fleeing natural disasters. They are just coming to America because it is easier to make money in the US than their home country that was destroyed by socialism and corruption.

@musiconabudget3712 Latin American poverty is due to socialism and corruption.

@lawnboy8401 They aren't refugees or real asylum seekers. They aren't being persecuted by any legal definition. They are just coming here to make more money, and they are just gumming up our legal system with their fraudulent appeals.

@michaelkgrantj Migrant workers did build this country, but that was before the FDR's New Deal. Back then, every new immigrant was a self sufficient contributor to the economy. Now every new poor family is just a drain of resources as they collect more from the taxpayer than they ever add back to the economy. You can have open borders or a large social safety net, but not both. I have no issue with Spanish speakers. English is just a vital component to integrate into the workforce just like basic math and literacy. Lastly, it is foolish to think a centrally planned economy worked back in a time where there was no understanding of inflation, statistics, or even supply & demand.
