Gen X. We’ve raised two generations of men on the message that men aren’t needed, and on media images of men as buffoons…who need to be saved from themselves by women…and yet we are surprised that this is where we have ended up?? Two generations of men who were told that they needed to be less yo make room for women to be more….only to then be shamed and ridiculed for making themselves less. Men are opting out of society because it’s been demanded that they assume all of society’s risks…but forfeit the freedom and rewards that went with them. They have been asked to lead…but forfeit the power and authority to do so. That is not leadership that is servitude. That is not maturity. That is abandoning one’s self to others who aren’t even grateful…and can barely even show common courtesy anymore.
