Yes. It fits. I realized 30 years ago that there was a massive disconnect between what women were saying they wanted, and what they actually were drawn to and seemed happiest with. My SIL is basically a stay at home mom, and seems to be happy as a clam. There is a saying: (Political) Ideology makes for bad policy. Because ideological concepts deal with things should be and ignore how things really are. Fifty-fifty is a feminist political plank. But it seems to be at-odds with women’s biology. Every woman I’ve seen in a truly 50-50 relationship is unhappy…and if the spilt goes any further than that, other women start speaking up and showing their contempt for the man in question. So to borrow a joke from my line of work, “Don’t give them what they ask for. Give them what they need.”

@LisaCulton Women clamor for a 50:50 division of household labor. Not a 50:50 division of resources production. The want the power and freedom, but not the stress and responsibility. Which is why so many women bail when they start to outearn their husbands. Which is why it never works. Women are unhappy with half of the resource production… and men resent having to do 60-70 percent of the resource production (necessary to keep her happy) and then are expected to do half of the housework as well.

@LisaCulton Depends how much he works. If she’s works 40, and I’m 60+?
