Because he is. I love this segment because what you’re seeing exposed is WHITE PRIVILEGE. This sense of “How dare you inconvenience me? I don’t believe Black lives matter and how dare you confront me with it. How dare you confront me with the fact that MY subjective experience of the world isn’t objective reality!” That childish, and misdirected outrage at (for a moment) the unspoken supremacy of whiteness not being at the center of the universe is at the root of every Karen meltdown…and irrational objection to calls for equality. When privilege becomes equality it feels like oppression. What he is acting out, but unwilling to say directly is “They’re booing because being inconvenienced and uncomfortable as a white person is more important than death and injustice to black people, and we’re mad.” You’re seeing racism in its most subtle —-yet soullessly callous—-form. My being uncomfortable is more important than your life. Let them eat cake….

They’re triggered for the reasons he mentioned. It calls attention to something that certain people would rather ignore….and white privilege feels that the comfort of white people is more important than the lives and health of black people. It’s why “Black Lives Matter” is so triggering to white people here in the US. That simple statement confronts them with their own racism, because they don’t believe that those lives do matter as much as White Lives. So they want it to go away.

@neodym5809 it’s not the kneeling. It’s what it symbolizes and the fact that it makes people uncomfortable. People always want to feel that they are the hero—-or the victim—-in whatever story is being told. That kneeling lets some people know that they are the villains in the eyes of some, and they can’t handle it.

Epic…and on the money.
