That’s not about business. That is about throwing such obnoxious barriers in front of people that they don’t access a program they are eligible for. This is about authoritarians kicking down at and humiliating those whom they see as beneath them.

Wow. Six pages? That is all about humiliating people and trying to discourage them.

@deanjones2525 Yep. But what is so deeply disturbing is the apparent *amusement* with which she talks about how those with money should be allowed to exploit those with out. I got the image of an antebellum Southern belle talking about the slaves on her daddy’s plantation….

@deanjones2525 And doesn't care about anything that doesn't impact her. Dated a woman in grad school who pulled that on me in a argument. Just flat out said, "Unless it affects me and my family, I DON"T CARE." Conversation stopper. Lost a ton of respect for her, and it was the beginning of the end of that relationship. I wasn't raised that way, and it wasn't how I wanted my children to be raised.

Wage slavery. That those with money have the right to exploit those without it. It’s slavery in every way that matters.

@applenoo1015 Nonsense. An “agreement” made under duress because there is such a massive and unfair power difference between one party and another is non-binding and non legitimate. The government also has a legitimate stake in not allowing its citizens to be exploited. Because while private (wealthy) citizens reap the benefits of such unprincipled behavior, the rest of society has to bear the costs of the damage to the social fabric it creates. Crime. Addiction. Despair. Resentment. Illness. It’s once again people wanting to reap the benefits of society but not pay their fair share in maintaining it.

@wannawin95 actually it is. CEOs earn so much money because executives and shareholders have basically rigged the system in their own favor. You’re seeing how they do it in this video. Through the lobbying of government and the bribing of….oh, excuse me…the “exercise of free speech through campaign contributions to” elected officials. Executives are no more productive than they were 50 years ago. But they’ve rigged the system to force workers to compete in a global market, and then and then avoid paying taxes on the ill-gotten gains from not paying people the value of that work on these shores.

@wannawin95 Project much? I’m a “two percenter” who simply has a working moral compass. Try again. What I find baffling is the fact that some of you are so limited that you literally can’t understand how someone can care about an issue unless it affects them personally. Smh.
1
@wannawin95 ...that that is why you fail...and have to resort to insulting people on the internet. You think the world is defined by your horizons...and not the other way around. The reason why I'm a two-percenter is because I'm curious BEYOND those things that directly impact me. Might want to try it some time.

@legoboy-ox2kx which is a disingenuous argument. Competition exposes bad business models. Allowing people to pay ridiculous wages coddles those bad models.
1
@legoboy-ox2kx Please. In a global race to the bottom in terms of labor costs, let’s stop pretending that what workers get paid reflects the value they create. That hasn’t been true in 40 years. It reflects what employers can get away with paying people.

Tim Beach Because you giving up in frustration is the reaction they’re looking for. I filled out an application for a loan yesterday, and it was a half page. That someone would have to fill out six pages of questions that invasive just to get assistance they are entitled to in times of hardship is an outrage...

Yes, I have Bed Bugs smh.

Wow. What some people will sell their souls for. There is something fundamentally broken in her.
