YES!!!!! That’s what I’ve been waiting for Evangelical to see. That they have become publicly and hypocritically pious Scribes that Jesus spent most of the Gospels holding up as an example of what NOT to do and who NOT to be. “…I know thee not…”

@Brian1Graves How did The Big Bang happen? Where did the Singularity come from?

@Brian1Graves Wrong from start to finish. Jesus was historically one of a number of religious/spiritual figures that emerged in the known world about 2500-2000 years ago… …and they all preached/teached remarkably similar messages. TLDR: The Sermon on The Mount sounds remarkably like Buddhist sutras and Hindu Advaita Vedantic sutras from 500 years earlier. And contemplatives of just about every major religious tradition independently replicates those same insights. IOW, as one spiritually matures, there is a convergent evolution: these figures become more similar and teach the same lessons on what is of greatest importance. Tenzin Gyatso, The Dalai Lama, once said to a journalist, “Kindness is my religion.” That is the foundation of Jesus’ teachings and the New Testament that Evangelicals have lost. It is like they pay lip service to Jesus and the Gospels while they actually worship a very Old Testament vision of God.

@TonkarzOfSolSystem You have to understand that people express themselves in the language that they know. Jesus said, “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and render unto God what is God’s” Jesus meant that one should leave matters of temporal power and politics to worldly powers. Concern yourself with matters of faith and the spirit. Be in the world but not of the world. So when he speaks of the (Evangelical) church secularizing, that is EXACTLY what he’s referring to. The church has lost its way and has become concerned with everything but living in accordance with The Gospels. As if being Christian is more a matter of tribal identity rather than a faith and a spiritual path to walk. Instead of forgiving The Adulteress, or at least having the self-awareness of their own imperfections to put down their stones and go home….too many of today’s Evangelicals would not have simply stoned her. They would have appealed to the Hebrew and Roman authorities to compel everyone else to stone her. That is what he’s talking about…and I have waited decades for an Evangelical leader to have the courage to make that call out publicly. Because it is obvious to everyone else, if I may dare say.

@AidaByrd I appreciate your faith, and I believe there is room for both Science and Religion at the table…as long as both stay in their lanes…and accept their limitations. Religion cannot prove that God exist. Which is why Faith and Humilty are necessary. Science cannot prove that God DOESNT exist, and Science eventually runs into a “Ex nihil nihil fit” problem: Nothing comes from nothing. If the Universe came from The Sigularity, then where did the Singularity come from? 🤷🏾♂️ So Science require a strict adherence to Reason and an acceptance of our human limitations.
