@rael5469 No. He fled the scene. You are NOT allowed (Supreme Court) to shoot someone for simply running away. This was NOT a legitimate use of force. Which is why they are trying to spin this as an accident rather than a conscious choice.

One healthcare worker to another? Amen.

@rael5469 I hate BAD cops. I have nothing against police who do their jobs well and professionally. Which means being able to tell the difference between a 9mm and a taser....and can exercise good judgement about the use of force.

@rael5469 So much for “All Lives Matter”....but then we know that the people trumpeting that line don’t really believe that. Actually she did murder Daunte Wright (say his name). Lesser murder charges in Minnesota apparently dont require intent or premeditation. Just acting with reckless disregard for life.... and not being able to tell the difference between a 9mm and a taser. Between an instrument of lethal force and non-lethal force meets that standard. Also it is against the law (unconstitutional use of force) to shoot someone for simply running away from police. So she is in serious legal trouble. The only question is whether a jury will follow the law? Or just issue the police a blank check to do whatever they damn well please as you seem to want to do.

i think you're right about how the police will try to play this. The wildcard is whether the community will accept this. The Chief walked out of the conference because he lost control of the narrative. He tried to make the officer who fired look sympathetic...but the press came armed with the facts...and were making the shoot look even MORE unjustified by calling into question the legitimacy of the initial STOP. You can't shoot someone for running away. There will be a big financial settlement with the family. But she'll get over charged (murder) by the DA...(if charges are brought at all) ....and then saved from conviction by reasonable doubt as to intent. Instead of being convicted for negligent homicide or manslaughter. Rinse and Repeat.
