  1. It is. This is kind of similar to grouping Portuguese and Swedes. They are both European, but definitely do not identify together.

  3. I think calling Indians Asian is like calling a English person European. It is true, but doesn’t really identify them much. Especially as there are other groups of Europeans like Southern Italians who look quite different like how Indians and Japanese look different. Asia also being much bigger, makes the scale even more massive. You have Arabs, Turkic groups, Southeast Asians, certain intermixed islander groups, east Asians, and even the Russians who are a mix of European and Asian with more Asiatic groups like Tartars.
