Better life in the US? They’re leaving Canada. One of the best countries you can possibly hope to live in. Even as more people in one report, were found to have moved from the US into Mexico than from Mexico into the US. There is more than that going on here. I think there are human traffickers involved here.

Life in the US isn’t as bad as India or the Congos. At the same time, why would anyone need to flee Canada? Why is the United States the only destination for these so called opportunities?

That would be equal to over 8% of the entire population of that town.

@CrazyAsian1 Actually, we are quite used to powerful storms. This winter caused mammoth to be the snowiest place on the entire continent. Including all of the great lakes, Canada, Alaska, Mount Washington, and Greenland. The rainfall we had in 24 hours compared to other states is the fourth highest 24 hour record of rainfall in the nation. Including higher than Florida’s and only surpassed by Texas, Alabama, and Hawaii. The golden gate itself was even designed to deal with hurricane force winds which it generally does. We deal with both dry Diablo and Santa Ana winds and powerful wet winter winds. We are just dealing with this during the summer and with warm weather rather than in the winter and cooler weather that we are used to.

Things are very different in California. We have almost unparalleled attention to the coast as we get power storms in winter generally.

Unfortunately due to other influences like monsoonal moistures from other locations and the topography of the area, it is one of the places to be barder hit.

Though if you are farther northeast, then it won’t be as bad.

Be hilarious if Canada did this on purpose so the wall can keep Americans out later on and Canada doesn’t even have to construct it.

@robguanakiyo Depends on where that terrain is. In places that are not as sedimental, then it isn’t a major risk. Especially as our higher ground is also rich in vegetation which holds any loose sentiment better. Also unlike Florida, our higher ground and more varied topography makes draining easier and to more easily get higher ground. We also have far more stable ground where we don’t get as many sinkholes as Florida does.

Where is the poop? I literally have never found human poop on any side walk in either LA or San Francisco. I smelled urine near Skid Row, but no poop. I literally have even looked for it.

@Ransomhandsome By who? Show me. I have seen trash there and like one place with a full bin of animal waste with trash falling out. Other than that, literally nothing and I’ve been to nearly every part of that city. It is the cleanest big city I have ever been to.

Like whether a storm strikes even matters for this outcome in the second largest city in the entire country.

More than that. What the government has done is everyone fend for themselves approach. Not even the states are helping their citizens. The whole country is basically in anarchy right now.

@aycc-nbh7289 I looked at the salaries and they are about the same. Average in the US is slightly higher, but it is no different for median salary which you should prefer to use as the wealth inequality in the US is extremely high and it isn't like the very people in need of having to sneak across borders are going to be extremely educated. I can imagine people in the Vancouver area moving south across the border for cheaper living and simply making commutes back and forth similar to what people do in Tijuana and San Diego.

@mrtee3477 Free in what way?
1
@mrtee3477 A huge chunk of the US's weather is absolutely atrocious. We get more tornadoes than any other nation on earth.

@seanthe100 At the same time, it is Canada. The Canadians are largely coming over legally and are not any type of refugee. You will have your meals in Canada. You will have a place to live. Even healthcare (which they don't in the US). You have plenty of other opportunities on top of that like education. Even if it were less desirable, why would anyone really need to flee with all of this? Especially when the US and Canada are great friends and with proper work done, they would likely get into the US legally and avoid all of this unnecessary trouble. Is there some kind of ice hockey war there we don't know about?

@aaronthenorm5400 It totally is.
1
@aaronthenorm5400 That makes it even more sinister.
