  1. This would follow the cause of the Hood's demise that has been most favored by those analyzing the ships loss - that the 4" magazine detonated - and set off the aft 15" magazines. There has been some speculation as to just how the 15" German shell (or the force of it's explosion) arrived in the 4" magazines but the consensus of opinion was that however it did that - that is what sank the ship. .
