  2. In Fairness to King - there was a reason for Hating the British. It's not like they were all sweet dispositions and respectful of other people. SOME - not all but Some - Britons were Anglophiles. If you think the Germans are Arrogant - they're nothing compared to the Anglophiles. "An Anglophile is someone - who would pick up a Road Apple - taste it - and then pronounce it Perfect - simply because it came out of the Ass Hole of a British Horse." -Me. You can see Anglophiles in action on the Internet. According to them ... Spitfires, Mosquitoes and and Lancaster's were PERFECT aircraft and superior to anyone and everyone elses's. Now - as I indicated - not all British are that way and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the RN and Britain's Achievements, technologically and militarily - but - I am aware of the Anglophiles - and - it wouldn't take much exposure to them - to turn King against the British in general. With King - he seems to have required all the British - as he did everyone else - to PROVE they weren't Ass Holes before he would respect them. The USA was completely unprepared for War - and one thing King would seem to have not wanted to hear - was criticism from the British - about things he may have already realized were problems. If you look at the development of the Convoy System by the British - they didn't like it at first either - and it was only through the experience of WWI and early WWII - that they adopted it. One thing here - is that the didn't automatically start using Convoys at the Start of WWII - when THEY themselves knew to use them from WWI. Given Kings probable attitude towards Anglophiles - he may not have been that willing to have such people telling him that their Experience made them right (even if they were) and him wrong. The Other factor - was the there was a lot King simply wasn't able to do until things changed - and it took a lot of sinkings - and time - for those changes to come. .
