Just a note to say thank you for all your hard work educating us on some part of the vast number of ships men have gone to sea in and killed each other. Though I did spend a year working with a ship as it worked up to deploy, I've only spent a couple of weeks aboard that combatant at sea - as a civilian technician - but it did give me some appreciation of what the kids - and they are kids - aboard those ships go through. They're "On Call" 24 hours a day - 7 days a week when they're deployed and just flat work their asses off. When watching one of these videos - I imagine the crews of these ships as they're scattered about the world and Thank God - cannot imagine the courage and horror of being aboard a combatant being torn apart so the enemy of all sailors - The Sea - can fill their ships and kill them. As with many videos where ships survived long enough to make it to being scrapped, I can imagine the tears shed by the men who served on them and put so much of their own lives into keeping them afloat. It makes me sad to know - that the combatant I worked on - has gone that way - along with so many of her sisters I may also have worked on, if only remotely and not at sea. Again - Thank You. .
