  1. So-called physically-accurate ray-traced renderers like Blender Cycles have a lot of options for telling lies. Like, for example, setting a non-inverse-square falloff on the intensity of a light source, to spread out the light more. You thought Photoshop was a tool of the devil? You should see what 3D software can do.

  2. Also worth contrasting how video-game developers now spend a lot of time dirtying their models up, with grime, scratches, dents, dust, rust and so on, while the architectural renders still look preternaturally clean. Do you think crap renders will ever become the fashion in archviz? ;)
