Vendor certifications have always had a short shelf life. They also seem to be a tidy revenue stream for the vendors concerned. I would say avoid them all.

@alexxx4434 Microsoft already tried “extinguish” -- remember the old cry of “Linux is a cancer”? That failed miserably. “Extend” isn’t going so well, either--I can’t think of a single contribution they’ve made to Open Source that has been successful. For an example of the quality of their work, consider this http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/08/23/your_wget_is_broken_and_should_die_powershellers_tell_microsoft/ . So yeah, they’re doing “embrace” now. Because it’s the only option they have left.

@rafaelmacaraeg6768 Azure is more than Linux-compatible; Microsoft are actually running more Linux than Windows instances on Azure. That’s what their customers are demanding.

Unfortunately the version of bash on Mac is old. Apple doesn’t seem to like the newer versions.

@thyssenFILMS All that takes extra fiddling, maintenance, handholding. On Linux, it Just Works™.

Remember the significance of the “Asterisk” name: it’s named for the shell wildcard “*” character, which matches any filename. This is to denote that Asterisk is so versatile, it can assume any kind of telephony-based role you can imagine. It’s a scriptable engine, that you can use to build your own applications using Python or other languages. Last time I looked at 3CX, even they are offering Asterisk-based solutions now. That’s how dominant it has become.

People are always surprised to discover that loyalty to a soulless, faceless, profit-driven megacorporation is never reciprocated.

Removing that audio jack must have taken some courage ...

This is Linux, not Windows.

Anything with a two-figure price tag?

You are not going to get anything x86 new for a two-figure price tag.

@naturalfps Because this is new.

Which HP model is that? Is it new?

Sounds like they did a pretty dumb thing by focusing on proprietary vendor certifications instead of, you know, actually giving their students an education.

What other offerings for a two-figure price tag?
