  1. In a Parliamentary democracy, Parliament is dissolved once an election is called. That means no new laws can be passed. Also I think it means the outgoing Government is put into a caretaker role (limiting the kinds of things they can do) until the new one can be sworn in. More and more it is looking to someone like me here in 🇳🇿 that the US Presidential-versus-Congress system simply does not work as well as a Parliamentary democracy.
